The Power of Community and Connection
Welcome to October at Whittington Well-Being!
This month, we're centering all our efforts on something near and dear to our hearts—Community and Connection. Why? Because no one should have to navigate life’s challenges alone, especially when those challenges can feel isolating and overwhelming. October is filled with crucial awareness campaigns—from Disability Employment Awareness Month to ADHD Awareness Month, and from Breast Cancer Awareness Month to National Bullying Prevention Month. In each of these areas, many have experienced pain, isolation, or silence due to illness, difference, or trauma.
Whittington Well-Being is committed to approaching these important causes by emphasizing the role that community and connection play in healing and recovery. Whether you're grappling with burnout, navigating a mental health challenge, or simply seeking more balance in your life, having a supportive community can be life-changing. Community saves lives. It saved mine, and that’s why we’re focusing this month on helping you build relationships where you feel seen, heard, understood, and—most importantly—where you belong. You are worthy of love and connection just as you are.
Throughout October, our Community and Connection Series will feature incredible conversations with leaders and experts who have lived through the isolating impact of trauma, illness, or difference. They’ll share how building a supportive community made all the difference in their healing process. This is our invitation to you to step into that space of connection and support. Join us for a month of reflection, inspiration, and actionable insights that will help you build the connections that fuel your well-being. Join our community in the live chat every Wednesday at 3 pm eastern time on our YouTube channel, Beyond Chronic Burnout. Say hello in the chat and let us know you’ve joined to share the conversation together.

No one seems to ‘get it’. Friends and family think you just need to push through or "self-care" more. Internally, so many people in late identified life (me included) feel broken, ashamed or like they are failing or have never reached their full potential, when all along they've had a brain and sensory system that is different from the masses. It can take a lot of strength to keep going.
